Protex Safe Co. LPD-161 Wall Mount Drop Box
The Protex Safe Co. LPD-161 Wall Mount Drop Box is designed for securing items like ballots, cash, checks, and large envelopes. It's a simple, off-white, steel drop box intended for indoor use. It offers basic security with a key lock and a design focused on functionality.
This drop box features a 9-1/4" (W) x 7/16" (H) drop opening that can accommodate legal-size paper. It uses a tubular-style key lock with a double 'D' configuration. Compared to competitors, it lacks advanced features like digital keypads or multiple access methods, focusing instead on straightforward, key-based security.
The Protex LPD-161 comes with mounting hardware and two tubular keys. The inclusion of mounting hardware is a plus, allowing for easy installation on walls.
Customer feedback indicates a generally positive sentiment towards the Protex LPD-161. The product has a high positive review ratio. The focus is on providing a secure and straightforward solution for basic drop box needs.
Compared to the Paragon Safe Digital Drop Safe, the Protex LPD-161 lacks the digital keypad and alarm system. The Paragon Safe offers a higher level of security with its electronic lock and automatic alarm, whereas the Protex LPD-161 relies solely on a key lock. However, the Protex is simpler to use for those who prefer a traditional key-based system.
When compared to the Durabox W500, the Protex LPD-161 has a more basic design. The Durabox W500 features a reinforced double steel door and internal metal baffles for enhanced security, while the Protex LPD-161 focuses on simplicity and ease of use. The Durabox is built with heavier gauge steel, offering more robust protection.
The Protex LPD-161 is a good choice for those needing a simple, no-frills drop box for indoor use. It's ideal for situations where basic security is sufficient, such as collecting suggestions, ballots, or rent checks. If you prefer a straightforward key lock and easy installation, this could be a suitable option.
